INTRODUCING

Porcelain Collection

Based around the legacy of Danish craftsmanship, Oxdenmarq makes simple yet striking furniture that have an elegant and original take on a timeless piece. The new Porcelain collection of tables represents a leap towards the ceramic world and collaboration between Oxdenmarq’s creative director and designer Dennis Marquart and his wife, the ceramist Jeanette Hiiri Marquart.

The new Porcelain collection of tables is inspired by the Japanese ceramic tradition, and delves back into the tradition of porcelain, from thousands of years ago. Enriched by the experiences from travels in Asia, the couple developed the natural colours and a unique transparent glaze.

“In Denmark, we have a strong tradition and possibilities to do design without compromising on anything. It’s only found in Scandinavia and Japan. We Danes often seek inspiration from Japan, while on the other hand Scandinavia is seen by Japanese as the foundation of simplicity. I think this mutual appreciation and respect is a beautiful relation that gave birth to some of the most iconic designs.”

Decision to bring the ancient tradition of hand thrown porcelain forward, marrying it with the simplistic form, resulted in the new collection of porcelain tables in natural shades, Celadon Green, Cloudy Grey and Ancient White. The tabletops are hand thrown, formed with the thin border on the outer edge that keeps shine and colour more condensed, thus giving the surface a more deeper and truly unique tone. But don’t let the lightweight expression of these tables fool you. They are just as heavy as marble and even more durable and resistant.

With the new collection of tables, Oxdenmarq is bringing new icons into the world of furniture design, changing the landscape and exploring new materials.
